Spencer Harold Smith

On Thursday, January 3, 2013, Spencer Harold Smith, 64, peacefully passed away in Lehigh Valley, Muhlenberg Hospital.

Born: He was the son of Harold Smith and Grace Zubler Smith. He was born July 11, 1948 and was raised in Mifflinburg, PA in a home where his father still resides.

Personal: Spencer was a graduate of Penn State University and held a Master's Degree from Lehigh.

Spencer was a retired Quality Control Engineer from LSI Corporation and he filled his hours of retirement with his son Justin, Kelly and his grandchildren, Carter and Ava the pride of his life.

Spencer enjoyed all sports and was an avid Penn State fan with the Blue and White games filling his week-ends in the fall months.

After retiring from LSI, he also worked part time at the Architect Golf Course and enjoyed his rounds of golf with his friends. Spencer loved books and continued his journey of learning throughout his retirement years. Daily Spencer visited the Family YMCA for his workouts and his long talks with his extended YMCA family.

Survivors: He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his devoted and loving son Justin, Kelly Hayes and his treasured grandchildren, Carter Justin Smith and Ava Brielle Smith, along with his former wife and friend, Sharon O'Hara Dachisen. Other surviving relatives are his father, Harold Smith; his brother, Larry Smith and sister-in-law, Judy Wilson and two sisters, Shirley Wilhelm and Paula Lord and brother in law, Jeff Lord. In addition Spencer is survived by a nephew, KC Smith and two nieces, Kristi Kriebel, her husband Brad and their two children Ashley and Ryan and Kelly Cherrup, her husband Mike and their son Zachary. Spencer is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Zubler Smith.
