Robert M Ely

Robert M. Ely, 63, of 5270 Weikert Road for over 30 years, and a lifelong resident of Hartley Township, entered into rest at 10 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011, at his home, after battling cancer for over four years.

"He was born Nov. 5, 1947, in Lewisburg, a son of the late William David and Natalie J. (Harne) Ely. In August 1992, he married the former Elizabeth "Sue" Cantrell, who survives.

Robert was a 1966 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.

He was employed at A.C.F. Industries, Milton, for over 38 years, until he retired.

Robert was a member of the West End Fire Company, Glen Iron, Union County Sportsmen's Club, Weikert, Mifflinburg V.F.W. Post 1964, American Legion Post 841, Montandon, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 210, Hornell, N.Y.

He enjoyed hunting in New York state, fishing, making Bob's deer bologna, and playing pool. Robert was a very loving husband and father.

Surviving in addition to his wife of nearly 19 years, are four daughters and one son-in-law, Diane Watson, of Weikert, Michele and Bill Brittain, of New Berlin, Tenaya Ely, of Weikert, and Tiffany Reedy, of Milton; one son, Tyler Reedy, of New Columbia and his fiance Emily Crosby; one brother and sister-in-law, William A. and Nancy J. Ely, of Weikert; seven grandchildren, Heather, Brandy, Eric, David, Nakita, Zachary, and Ethan; six great-grandchildren, Alexiz, Mason, Maverick, Hunter, Brayden, and Braylin; and several nieces and nephews.
