David Norman Seebold
David Norman Seebold, 59, of Mifflinburg, passed away at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 , at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.
He was born Aug. 23, 1948, in Lewisburg, the son of the late Floyd E. and Miriam (Wenrick) Seebold. On Aug. 28, 1971, in Rooke Chapel at Bucknell University, he married the former Carolyn R. Ernest, who survives.
He was a 1966 graduate of Mifflinburg High School.
David enlisted in the Army in 1969, serving in Germany and Vietnam as a heavy equipment operator and was proud to be involved in the building of the main highway through Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971.
David operated the family farm, and for 37 years, he was known as a reliable and dependable livestock truck driver. He formerly was a constable for Limestone Township, and he was a leader for the Union County 4-H Horse & Pony Club.
He was a member of Dreisbach United Church of Christ, Lewisburg, where he assisted in the construction of the church.
David enjoyed horseback riding with his family, hunting, attending tractor pulls and being out in nature.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dustin E. and Andrea R. Seebold of Mifflinburg; one grandson, Garrett P. Seebold; one sister, Linda Smith of New Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. He was excitedly waiting the arriving of another grandchild.
In keeping with David's wishes, there will be no public viewing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 9 a.m. Friday in Dreisbach United Church of Christ Cemetery, 875 Dreisbach Church Road, Lewisburg, with his pastor, the Rev. Michael C. Romig, officiating.
The family will provide flowers. At David's request, contributions in his memory may be sent to his grandchildren at the Seebold Family, 148 Vista Drive, Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
